Other Dialogs¶
This page is a reference for the smaller windows reached from the menus and the message list.
Mailbox Selection (Profile Manager)¶
Open it from Tools ▸ Profile Manager. The window — titled Mailbox Selection — lists your profiles (mailboxes) and lets you create, register, rename, and switch between them. Each profile is a self-contained mailbox folder with its own account, folders, and messages.
The buttons (New, Add, Remove, Set Default…, Set Display Name, Open Folder, and the Show folder names toggle) and the restart-on-switch behaviour are described in full under Getting Started ▸ Profiles.
Send Event Log¶
Help ▸ Send Event Log is for when support asks you for diagnostics. One click builds an e-mail addressed to support, attaches the current log file, and drops it in your Outbox. You are told either that
- Event log message has been generated successfully. — it will go out with your next send; or
- …Please establish connection to send it. — you are offline, and it will wait in the Outbox until you connect.
The message is an ordinary outgoing message, so you can open it in the Outbox beforehand to see exactly what is being sent.
Reproduce the problem first
The log is attached as it stands when you press the entry, so trigger whatever went wrong before sending it.
About¶
Open it from Help ▸ About. The About Sobamail Desktop window shows what you need when reporting an issue:

It doubles as a server-status display. Each entry is a dot — green for running, red for failed, plain for stopped:

License Blurbs¶
The License link in the About window opens License Blurbs — a read-only view of the application's licence and the notices for the third-party components it includes.
MIME source viewer¶
Show MIME Source (Ctrl+U) on a message in the message list opens a read-only window with the raw, on-the-wire form of that message — headers and all. Useful when you need to see exactly what was received rather than how it renders.
Find in message¶
Ctrl+F in the reader pane opens a small finder bar for searching inside the message you are reading. It carries Whole Words and Match Case toggles and arrows to step between hits.
This searches the open message only. To search across messages, use the search box.
Database Importer¶
Tools ▸ Import ▸ Import Database opens the Database Importer, which pulls messages out of another mailbox database into this one.
