Welcome to the Sobamail user manual! It is written for people who want to learn their way around the Sobamail Desktop interface and get the most out of the platform.
What is Sobamail?¶
Sobamail augments email with a collaborative application platform where code and data live right inside your mailbox. It works like a normal email client, with a few behaviors that are unique to Sobamail.
Getting started¶
- Install Sobamail — download and set up the native desktop client.
- Sign in, and you are ready to go.
Migrating from an older Sobamail version? See the migration guide.
Finding your way around¶
These pages walk through the main window, top to bottom:
- Navigating Folders — the folder tree on the left: accounts, prime folders, custom and app folders, and how to create, rename, move, and delete them.
- Navigating and Searching Messages — the message list: how it is organized, moving through and opening messages, acting on a selection, and searching.
- Composing and Sending Messages — writing messages, attachments, image optimization, and timed delivery.
Going deeper¶
- Day-to-Day Operation — the behaviors unique to Sobamail: working offline, direct peer-to-peer connections, and large attachments.
- Troubleshooting — structured messages, login problems, and other common issues.
